The lessons we learnt so far (Consolidation of learning)

Constance :
From this CID, I have learnt many skills that I believe would definitely be of great use in the future.  I have learnt to gather meanings and thoughts, look beyond what is just on the surface, observe and infer, and others.
One lesson that left a great impression on me was the one where we learnt about looking things beyond the surface. Firstly, we were given two pictures, one of which is a lady carrying a child and asking others for money, Another is a beggar on the street who seems to be in good physical condition but says that he is homeless and robbed. Many of us, including me quickly decided to help the woman with the baby instead of the man. Why? We all assumed that he is in good physical condition, ,and thus would be able to find a job and get a decent pay. On the other hand, the woman has a baby and would be unable to work as nobody would be able to take care of the baby. Well, these are all just what is seen on the surface. It was later revealed that the woman was a scammer, while the man had lost his hand and is homeless, broke, and unable to fend for himself. From this lesson, I have learnt that what we have seen might not be what is true, and thus we have to think beyond the surface.

Sean :
After all these long lessons of CID , I have learnt how the earth really is like. Whether it is rich or poor , evil or good . CID has taught it all . Through CID , I have learnt that in life , not everything is what it is seen as, and we should not judge a book by its cover. Furthermore, these things that were never taught to me , was taught in an exciting and interesting manner , which made me feel even more interested in CID for there was never a subject in school that taught these type of things. And these things are applicable to our everyday lives. From CID , I have also learnt how to present myself clearly and confidently infront of audiences . This is normally taught by the English and Chinese teachers for oral . However , in the oral examination , not many of us really apply this skill. Through CID , the teachers really emphasise on this skill and make sure we remember to use it during the presentation , and hence I conclude that CID Is useful and interesting to me .

Cherlyn :
During this two months of CID lessons, I have learnt a lot of useful skills that can be applicable to our daily lives. This term's CID Lessons has really been very enriching and interesting as it allows me to learn lots of things that in future can help me a lot that I never thought CID would teach me.
The skills that I learnt during CID such as inference, presentations skills like not judging a book from its cover, inferring things from the picture to make our stand and presentations skills like being confident, being coherent and also how our body language can show that we are nervous or confident. To me, this skills had been taught over and over again by teachers but I never applied it to my presentations or work that I do. Therefore, my work done was always not up to standard and lacking however, through CID, I learnt that these skills are actually important and could be applicable in our daily lives. Therefore I found CID really enriching and find that I had learnt lots of useful skills.

Yuling :
Through the various CID lessons, I have learnt many useful things that will help a lot in life, like how we should not judge a book by its cover and what makes a good presentation. In the past, I did not have much chances to present something but through interactive lessons, I've finally realised how distracting or awkward it could be it the presenter fidgets or pauses for too long. We were given opportunities to practise our presentation skills and have been told our mistakes after that so that we can do better. The CID lessons encourage us to think alot and look beyond what is on the surface. What I thought would've been boring and snooze worthy lessons were actually quite interesting and engaging, which I benefited a lot from.

Shin Ru :
Through the many CID lessons, I have learnt things that I would never have thought of if not for this subject. Although I do not seem to be paying attention(sometimes I don't :3), but I do listen to class and find it interesting. I learnt about pictures, carrying more emotions and thoughts than a thousand words, how to observe and communicate effectively and fluently and also how to conduct an effective presentation. Through the CID lessons, I have also learnt how to present confidently and express my thoughts effectively, with the help of the practical lessons the class offered. Our teacher was also engaging in terms of teaching us and I feel that his information got through to us very well. I feel that the lessons prepared me well for the presentations in the future and taught me how to view things in a different perspective. I look forward to more fun and interesting CID lessons.
